Oh my.
Just as I thought the minimalist is coming back, it really hasn't come back as strong as...the '80's! Leggings, legwarmers, multi-layered styles...these are all in. I loathe clothing from the '80s.
However, we don't have to choose the hideous items from the '80s. Afterall, it's retro '80s, not the real 1980's. So some of the colours, such as fluorescent yellow, pink, orange and green are gone. Bright colors are in, however, in their warmer hues. Pumpkin, cafe au lait, chocolate, olive green, tomatoe.
Patterns are in too...argyle, plaits, checks.
Textures...knits are in big time. Shine is in too...think leather and silk.
Bottoms: cropped pants, shorts. Miniskirts.
Specific pieces: Oversized knitted sweaters, sweater dresses, big sleeved tops, wool sweaters in both bold and neutral colors. Big and fine knits. Skinny pants. Big pants. Ruffled blouses in all colors. Shiny silk blouses in all colors.
Jackets: leather jackets. Blazers are very much in.
Shoes: textured ballet slippers. Stacked heeled shoes, in bold colors.
I refuse to wear legwarmers though...one of the most hideous items from the '80s.
