Men's fashion trends for the two coming seasons aren't so complicated. Some must haves (picture courtesy of jcrew.com)-
- cashmere or other fine knit wool sweaters in autumn colors (brown, green, brick red, toast, aubergine); these will work well with chinos, trousers, and even underneath a suit for a casual look.
- vest: with a buttoned up shirt inside the vest, wear a pair of chinos, jeans and casual pants. Having a tie with the shirt is a great look with the vest
- sports jackets and blazers: yes, these are in! I guess people are looking for a casual yet polished look, rather than sloppy. Textured jackets may be worn with chinos and jeans, whereas smooth looking wool blazers may be worn with dress pants
- ties: they are in at this time. Simple, traditional patterns such as plain, stripes or pin dot. Nothing funny or outrageous. Think tasteful. They may be worn on a more casual basis - meaning not necessary with a suit.
- shoes: nothing new here, just normal loafers, oxfords, or runners.
If only women's fashion trends are as simple...

All are good but not the vests. I do not like them.
