These few days I've been feeling sluggish - fatigued and congested with allergies. Nothing is more annoying then sneezing 5 to 10 times uncontrollably. I've been advised to take antihistamine - the common over the counter drug that combats allergies. Yet when I took it in the past, the effectiveness only lasted...1 day.
So I am not about to spend money on something that works for only a short time. Plus, I believe in natural remedies. What is the best remedy for allergies?
I did some research, and came up with sauna. But I did not begin the search with the word sauna or allergy. Instead. I typed in "weak liver", since I know that the liver is responsible for many bodily functions. It turns out that a weak liver results in many problems, including allergies, blurry eyesight, liver spot, back pains, cysts and lumps, menstrual problems, insomnia, and so forth. A weak liver may stem from too much toxins in the body that the liver doesn't have "time" to filter out, so the toxins stay in the body, producing many illnesses. A way to get rid of toxins? Sweating. And I have access to a sauna, so off I went.
Right after my first sauna, my body felt lighter and more energetic. Much less sluggish. I was relaxed. I sneezed much less. The second day I did the same thing - staying in the sauna for 3o minutes. This time, my energy went back up to its normal level. Again, less sneezes!
The skin is considered to be an important organ that helps the body detox by sweating out the bad stuff. The result? Better skin, better energy level, and overall, feeling great!
For those who do not have access to a sauna, doing an exercise that makes you sweat just as much is great. Or if you don't like exercising, curling up in a thick blanket on a hot day may do the trick!
