I am only five feet tall. This makes me a petite woman. For those who have trouble finding clothing that fit, I absolutely understand.
Even though some classic fashion retailers and designers have "petite" lines, not to many sporty labels cater to petite people. I have tried on track pants from New Balance and Nike, and the waistband always comes up to my chest. Frustrated, I went to the Girls' and Boys' sections. It was the best decision I have made, because the pants' lengths are perfect for me.
So, for those of you who cannot find "active wear" your size because you are one of those petite people, try kids' sections. Nowadays the designs are quite hip and mature that an adult can wear them without feeling like a teen.

Noelle, you are a magnificent 2" taller than me, and you have my envy.
Unfortunately, athletic apparel is a lot easier to deal with than more figure conscious clothes for work or going out. Because I'm practically a size category down from petites and thin, I cannot find clothes unless I get them altered. I've tried, believe me - I even hand over my blog as evidence.
And while it is true that you can definitely find stuff in the children's section, it's really hard to feel good and go shopping for a slinky top there, amongst all the teenagers.
